About the ArtistHave you noticed? The world moves and changes. Natures' waving trees, rippling waves and nodding fields of wildflowers have caught our attention and gladdened our souls for a thousand thousand generations. Our very souls respond to color, movement, rhythm,and change. Who can resist watching clouds slowdance in a blazing orange sunset? Is there anyone not calmed in heart and mind simply by watching the ebb and swell of ocean waves? Trees, rivers, fires, fields... movement and change have a deep power to interest us, fascinate us, give us an inner sense of true peace and real pleasure.Yet, our modern lifestyles often take place far from Nature's visual harmony, Even the prosperous among us spend our days in offices that are box-like, sharp edged and unchanging with glaring, blank white lights overhead. Our home lives are more comfortable, with more artistic colors and softer lighting... but we still have little movement or change to capture our sense of wonder like those nodding fields of wildflowers. What if an artist could somehow create a living, moving sunset on a wall? What if there were a large, framed painting with swirls of rich colors that constantly move and evolve like clouds in a dawn sky? Speaking of skys, what if a craftsman could use thousands of tiny fiber optic strands to re-create the night sky, stars and planets so realistically that the bedroom ceiling seems to be a skylight? And finally, what if there were a spa room, a massage room that was turned into a sanctuary of color, healing, calming moods of rich colors... at the touch of a button? I asked myself all those "what if" questions some 30 years ago while living in New York City being a concert lighting guy inventing special effects and doing those gorgeous liquid lightshows. Nothing has ever filled my eyes and moved me more than those flowing, majestic clouds of color. The vision captured me completely and I devoted my life to "discovering the secrets of Light and sharing them with a wide-eyed world". (see Jo•el's Purpose Statement) Limitless Light Studios was founded in 1984. My first project was projecting animated laser graphics on the sides of building for the Los Angeles Olympics. Since then more than a dozen new lighting instruments and beautiful effects have been "invented" at Limitless Light Studios. This website is both the Library of exciting, useful information about the effects of light and color on us humans as well as the "store" where these wonderworks of Kinetic Light Art can be seen, experienced, sampled and purchased.
